A contents packout (also written pack-out or pack out) is the packing, documenting and removal of the belongings in a damaged home so the house can be dried, cleaned or rebuilt. It usually follows water, fire or smoke damage, mold, or major repairs that need empty rooms.
When the repairs are finished, the belongings come back. That return trip is called a pack-back: the crew delivers everything and sets the rooms up again.
How a packout differs from a regular move
